Installing On Ubuntu

IMPORTANT: If you installed Gnome15 before 0.7.0., make sure you remove
the old repository from your list of software sources.

sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:tanktarta/gnome15

 

  • These instructions apply to Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid), Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty), Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric), Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise) and Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal)
  • The latest version available for Ubuntu 10.10 is 0.8.3. This is because OBS, the service that provides builds of Gnome15 no longer supports this version.
  • Once configured, you will receive updates when new versions of Gnome15 are made available.

Add The Public Key

Add The New Repository

sudo sh -c "echo deb http://www.gnome15.org/$(lsb_release -cs) ./ >> /etc/apt/sources.list"
sudo apt-get update

Install Gnome15

sudo apt-get install gnome15-ubuntu


You should then reboot.

The gnome15-g15direct and gnome15-g19direct driver packages are used by default, which should cover the G13, G15, G110, G510, Z10 and G19. If this drivers do not work for you, you may want to try one of the alternatives. Install either gnome15-kernel for the kernel driver or  gnome15-g15daemon for g15daemon.
